On October 30, 1995, Colin suffered a kidney disease and died nine days later on November 9 at the age of 53. His roommate Sarah would die the next day on November 10 at the same age from cervical cancer.
Viewing/cremation/funeral[]
On November 19, 1995, a viewing for him was held in the South Funeral Home at the Gardens of Boca Raton Memorial Park in Boca Raton, Florida. He was cremated an hour later. Ten days later on November 29, his funeral was held there.

On December 9, 1995, his ashes were buried in the Neptune Memorial Reef in Key Biscayne, Florida.
